Thugs of Hindostan

For the first time, the two big superstars of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan came together to ablaze the silver screen with their dynamic persona. Vijay Krishna Acharya's Diwali release‘Thugs of Hindostan’ is out for the audience and now it’s time to witness and pass comment whether the movie is a hit or a big blow.

The film is set during pre-independence era. In 1795, British company’s officer Clive (Lloyd Owen) captured the kingdom of Mirza (Ronit Roy) by his wicked trick, Mirza and his people are ardent lover of their homeland and they desire liberty against the British Raj. The cruel Clive takes away Mirza’s kingdom by killing Mirza. His daughter princess Zafira (Fatima Sana Shaikh) was saved by Khudabaksh urf Azaad (Amitabh Bachchan) a leader of rebel pirates who steal British ships and dream to demolish the British and get back the territory.

Azaad and his gang became a big headache for Clive and so in order to nab Azaad and his gang, Clive hires a cunning thug named Firangi (Aamir Khan) to rip off Azaad and his gang. Then starts a clash between Azaad and Firangi, which ultimately revolted against the cruel Britishers.

Despite big talents like Big B and Aamir, Vijay Krishna Acharya failed to deliver a successful epic drama. The disaster of the movie once again proved that script is the king of any movie and not the star cast. Audience actually got confused what the film is showing and what’s going to show. From script to acting, nothing actually touched the heart and soul of the audience sadly, ‘YRF’s ‘Thugs of Hindostan turned out to be the biggest disaster of 2018.

Katrina Kaif has been used for only two songs and she hardly got any room to show her acting. She was just misused. Aamir Khan’s assent and attires were confusing and despite good effort, he failed to leave a mark. Amitabh Bachchan’s talent was also just wasted. The only one who is benefited was Fatima Sana Shaikh, she got a chance to experience a new arena of acting, i.e, action and she has been excellent.

In the nutshell, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ has really thugged (cheat) the audience. It is a total disaster.  Audience on their own risk is advised to go to the cinema theatre.
