To feel and understand the life of another person and portray his character on-screen with sheer perfection is a tough job. Things get immensely tougher when the personality is a big name and possesses variety of shades. Bollywood actor Sanjuay-dutt/' title='Sanjay Dutt'>Sanjay Dutt had lived many lives in one life. He has gone though many ups and downs in his life. From drug addiction to suffer jail term, Sanjay Dutt fondly called Sanju had gone through many tough phases in life and always came out as a winner.

Ranbir Kapoor portrayed the role of Sanjay Dutt in the biopic. The film showcases Sanju’s childhood, adulthood, drug phase, jail life, his girlfriends, his relationship with his parents etc. The film is an honest effort and did not try to show Sanjay Dutt in a good and honest frame. It spoke about his life story in a very engrossing manner.

Sanjay Dutt’s life is an open chapter but still there are some hidden facts which his fans are not aware of and ‘Sanju’ tried to bring into forefront even the minute incidents of his life.

Sanjay’s worst phase started when he got addicted to drugs. Later the TADA and Arms Act case totally destroyed his life. But he is a fighter and he bounced back. He got rid of drugs and also completed his jail term and came out to lead a normal life. 

Ranbir Kapoor got into the skin of the character and delivered his best. He caught the nerve of Sanjay Dutt and enacted exactly like him. Ranbir's posture and gesture looks like Dutt. The film also has a scene from ‘Munnbhai’ series. 

Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt was convincingly. It showed how Sanjay and Sunil Dutt loved each other and how Sunil Dutt helped Sanjay to sail through his tough phase smoothly.

Manisha Koirala effectively played the role of Sanjay’s mother Nargis Dutt. Vicky Kaushal played Sanjay’s thick friend. He was extraordinary in ‘Sanju’. Jim Sarbh and Anushka Sharma are appealing. Sonam Kapoor is awesome. Dia Mirza, Boman Irani and Karishma Tanna played the role well.

 Rajukumar Hirani’s direction is top-notch. He extracted the best out of his actors which is reflected on the screen.

Technically the film is very strong. Make-up artist Vikram Gaikwad deserves huge round of applause. Sanjay Wandrekar’s cinematography is eye catching. Editing by S Ravi Varman is topnotch. A R Rahman’s music is situational and effective.

In the nutshell, ‘Sanju’ is a masterpiece and it is highly recommended.
