Badhaai Ho

Ayushmann Khurrana is back with another power-packed and a laughter riot movie, ‘Badhaai Ho’. The plotline of the movie will tickle your funny bones and it is new yet very natural concept which is hardly spoke or discussed.

The film questions the very vital issue-Does love, romance, intimacy is age bound? Or getting pregnant beyond a particular age is shameful or a curse for the society. Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, Surekha Sikri and Sanya Malhotra starrer ‘Badhaai Ho’ is an answer to all those social stigmas.

Everything is going fine in Kaushik family. Nakul Kaushik (Ayushmann Khurrana)’s love life is going steady with his upper-class girlfriend Renee (Sanya Malhotra). Things turned upside down when it is learnt that Nakul’s parents - Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta are set to welcome a new member to the family. Neena’s pregnancy was a big jerk for the family. Grandmother (Surekha Sikri) and a younger brother Ghullan (Shardul Rana) and the everyone associated with the family go wild when they get to know that Neena Gupta, who is above 50 is pregnant.

What the family goes through when the news went public forms the rest of the story.

Director Amit Ravindernath Sharma squashes the typical mind-set of the society. Getting pregnant beyond a particular age is a taboo for the society and 'Badhaai Ho' deals with this unusual situation.

The first part is humorous while the second part will strike your emotional chord.

Speaking about the performances, Ayushmann Khurrana rules. He performed exceptionally well. The charmer of the project is Neena Gupta, who performed brilliantly.

Gajraj Rao is natural and easy-going. Surekha Sikri is terrific. Sanya Malhotra, Sheeba, Shardul Rana added flavour to the project.

Sanu John Verughese's cinematography is eye-catching. Ratheesh UK's production design is realistic. Dev Rao Jadhav's editing is fine. Abhishek Arora’s music has a feel-good feeling.

In a nutshell, ‘Badhaai Ho’ is a delightful watch. Highly recommended.
