*Panorama says one in five young British Asians thinks it's justified to physically punish a woman if they dishonour their family. Two-thirds of young British Asians agree that families should live according to the concept of "honour", a poll for BBC Panorama suggests.* Utterly repellent article by Huma Qureshi in The Guardian (where else) claiming this has nothing to do with "culture" as she claims it happens everywhere (not disproportionately it doesn't) and playing the race-card ("spreading hate and fear"). Instead of engaging in cultural relativism and whataboutery she should focus on reforming South Asian/Middle Eastern culture and being honest about the roots of this barbarism:
