channel [v] on the run ep 12 seg 1

Description:

Channel [v] On the Run trio Purab Kohli, Anushka and Sarah-Jane reach Dharamshala, where His Holiness the Dalai Lama has been living since the 60s, and what has now popularly known as Little Tibet. The trio visits the Tibetan School The Tibetan Childrens Village TCV, where orphaned Tibetan children are looked after, educated and cared for to instill in them and help them nurture their own Tibetan culture, language and traditions. There they meet up with JJI Exile Brothers the first ever Tibetan rock band that has now a global audience. Three brothers who grew up in exile now vent their angst through music spreading awareness about the plight of Tibet to the world. They then visit the nursery of TCV where newborn orphaned babies are looked after. Tibetan parents risk their lives making the harsh journey from Lhasa to Kathmandu and then here to leave their children behind with the hope that they will have a better and a more Tibetan future growing up outside Chinese occupied Tibet, and then return to Lhasa before the Chinese Police/army can harm the rest of the family. Its heart-wrenching that these children will probably never know, see or hear from their parents again. Please donate to TCV; watch the clip for contact info.
