Rajesh (Dilip Kumar) comes from a wealthy family who is both shrewd in business and large of heart. He is friends with Shekhar (Manoj Kumar), who is a young doctor. Shekhar is in love with Meena (Waheeda Rehman), the daughter of one of Rajesh's servants. Meena too falls in love with Shekhar, but when Rajesh falls for Meena and determines to marry her, Shekhar and Meena decide to conceal their relationship. Rajesh and Meena get engaged but tragedy strikes when they meet with a car accident in which Rajesh becomes paralyzed and is confined to a wheelchair. It is then that Rajesh finds out about Shekhar and Meena's affair and Rajesh's murderous and possessive hatred from the past surfaces. Soon everyone's loyalties are put to the test where Rajesh's demons from the past put the lives of Shekhar and Meena in danger. How will Rajesh's darkness alter the lives of people around him? Who will survive amidst the angst and fatal treachery?
