Zareen Khan to recreate Malaika Arora’s 'Maahi Ve' song

Now-a-days, it has become a trend to incorporate a version of old chartbusters in new Bollywood films. ‘Kala Chashma’ from ‘Baar Baar Dekho’, ‘Tunhe Apna Banane Ka’ from ‘Hate Story 3’, ‘Rock Tha Party’ from ‘Rock Handsome’, ‘Har Kisi Ko’ from ‘Boss’ are a few instances in point.

On the same lines, actress Zareen Khan is set to feature in a recreated version of ‘Maahi Ve’ song from 2002 film ‘Kaante’ for Vishal Pandya’s upcoming directorial 'Wajah Tum Ho'.

The original song was a sensuous pole dance number featuring the sultry Malaika Arora and was sung by Richa Sharma and Sukhwinder Singh.

The recreated version for the film will be shot later this month, but it is not known whether pole dancing will be retained or not. Talking about it Zareen said, “I am super excited to have been chosen for the recreated version of Malaika's iconic song. Stepping into her shoes comes with a lot of pressure; she looked really hot in that number."

"The shoot is scheduled to take place towards the month-end. It is one of my all-time favourite songs, so I am excited and nervous at the same time. I hope I can do justice to it," the ‘Hate Story 3’ actress was quoted in a Mid-day report. She added that she will start rehearsing for it next week.

‘Wajah Tum Ho’ is a thriller starring Sana Khan of ‘Jai Ho’ fame as the female lead, along with Sharman Joshi, Gurmeet Chaudhary and Rajneesh Duggal. The film is slated to release on December 2.
