Yami Gautam to romance Pulkit Samrat in 'Junooniyat'
"I am all set to direct my next film which is a musical love story. Please don't slot this film in the rom-com genre. It's a proper love story," Agnihotri said. The film will be produced by music major T-Series. Talking about the film, producer Bhushan Kumar said, "We are bringing together a fresh pairing of Yami Gautam and Pulkit Samrat. It is a musical love story which will be shot in India."
Buzz is that while Yami Gautam will play Pulkit's love interest, Pulkit will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar in the film. "It's a very unusual film which will go on floors in November. Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam will play the lead roles in the film," said the film director. The film is set in four different states and will be shot in Srinagar, Uttarkashi, Shimla, Patiala, Amritsar and will have a very desi flavour.
While Agnihotri is excited about the love story, there are reports that his other project ‘Freedom’ has been shelved. When asked, he said: "I can't say it's shelved. The producers have sold the film to someone else. I can't give so much time to a film, so I am making my next one."
Yami Gautam, who made her debut with the Bollywood film ‘Vicky Donor’ was last seen in ‘O Teri’ and has the upcoming ‘Dolly Ki Doli’ with Sonam Kapoor. "I have always done work to which my heart says 'yes'. If a film is a huge hit, you do think properly before choosing your next projects. I am not from a film family or a Mumbai girl. The probability of getting a second chance is low and so one has to be more careful. That doesn't mean I am scared," Yami said in an interview.
Pulkit Samrat is an Indian actor and model. He is best known for starring as Lakshya Virani in the popular tele show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. He made his film debut with ‘Bittoo Boss’, thereafter ‘Fukrey’, which was a hit.
“Yash Chopra is my guru and I am very inspired by the love stories that he has made. ‘Junooniyat’ is also a deep love story that will make you laugh, cry and feel with the characters,” said Agnihotri, adding that the film is scheduled to take off in November this year.
