Amitabh Bachchan will be facing another Amitabh Bachchan on 23RD Jan 2004. The stage is set for two big Amitabh's films to be released on the same day. Vikram Bhatt's 'Aetbar' and Raj Kumar Santoshi's 'Khakee' will be back-to-back releases with Amitabh Bachchan playing...
...important roles in both the films. In 'Aetbar' Amitabh plays loving and caring father of Bipasha Basu, whereas in 'Khakee' he plays strict disciplinarian police officer that leads from the front. It is a coincident that both the films are going to be released on the same day. Amitabh is presently engrossed in the shooting of Gaurang Doshi's 'Deewar', which is expected to hit theatres in the middle of the year. Amitabh is excited as well as concerned that his two major releases will be released simultaneously.
This is a rare occasion for Big B in his long span of more than two decades of film career. Vikram Bhatt justifies his stand that it is an ideal time for his movie's release, as on 30TH January, two big films 'Rudraksh' and 'Paap' would be screened. Considering the fact that Jan 26TH is the national holiday, a big crowd is expected. Santoshi is optimistic about 'Khakee' as it has projected Amitabh Bachchan in his true colors. Amitabh has always excelled as a super cop. Even his finest performance was witnessed in 'Zanjeer' that propelled him to super stardom. On January 23 rd, it would be D.C.P. Anant Srivastav (Amitabh in 'Khakee') versus Dr. Malhotra (Amitabh in 'Aetbar'). Let's hope that the better one wins though it's a win win situation for Amitabh.
