The music launch of Drona saw a bunch of stars like Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Kay Kay Menon and Jaya Bachchan. The film is close to both Abhishek and his childhood friend director Goldie Behl. Mother Jaya Bachchan is closely associated with the film too and gets emotional on looking at his son’s dream coming true which he has cherished for his life. Emotional Jaya was quoted as saying, "If I get tears in my eyes, please excuse me. These are tears of happiness."
Jaya and Abhishek were also heard talking about their new friend Salman Khan who has gifted Abhi a portrait of Drona. Though Salman was not linked with the project, his name was mentioned. Priyanka Chopra who is playing Drona’s bodyguard could not stop raving about her look in the movie.
Drona was a long time dream of Abhi and Goldie. Sharing some light memories of the past, Abhi said, "We were sitting in a corner sulking that our fathers have thrown us off the sets and that was when we said that when we grow up we will make a film. We will have sword fighting in it and then we will get to throw people off the set."
