Watch Trailer: Jimmy Sheirgill's ‘Rangeelay’ is a hit

Jimmy Sheirgill is a good character actor and though he never made it out as a conventional hero in Bollywood his roles in movies like ‘Mohabattein’, ‘Munnabhai M.B.B.S’, ‘Agnipankh’ and ‘Saheb, Biwi aur Gangster’. However, the actor has been missing in action for some time except his recent Bollywood release ‘Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns’. Jimmy was busy with his own production house and film projects in Punjab. His Punjabi film ‘Rangeelay’ is about to release. Its official promo trailer has just released and according to the buzz, the feedbacks are good so far.

The film ‘Rangeelay’ is produced by EROS International and the Jimmy Sheirgill Productions. The actor has been a big hit in Punjab and his last film ‘Saadi Love Story’ did a roaring business in the Punjab film circuit. He has established himself as an actor who can deliver hits in Punjab. Obviously the expectation from his next project is very high. Dheeraj Rattan who directed his earlier hit ‘Saadi Love Story’ has taken up the pen for writing the story and screenplay of ‘Rangeelay’. Navaniat Singh has directed ‘Rangeelay’. The movie is all set to hit the theatres on 16th of May, 2013.

The movie stars another Bollywood celebrity Neha Dhupia. The glamorous lady plays the role of a hard to get hotty in the flick. Jimmy tries all the antiques to win her heart in the movie. Some time Jimmy transforms into a dwarf, breaks into singing, climbs the plumbing pipes and even beats the goons. Jimmy looks good with a hockey stick that he uses generously to beat up the goons in the trailer. All in all the fans of Jimmy will be treated to his new avatar in the film. The funky image looks quite cool on Jimmy. It is light years apart from the serious roles he have played throughout his acting career.

‘Rangeelay’ is a musical love story with elements of comedy thrown in. Jimmy has turned 42 now but hasn’t lost a single iota of his comic timing. It is just as perfect as it always was. His acting is a pleasure to watch. We would love to see him in such a avatar in main stream Hindi movies as well.

We wish the actor all the best for his new venture and from the looks of the trailer it seems he has a sure winner in hands.
