Vidya's 'Kahaani' a hit
Vidya Balan has again scored sixer with ‘Kahaani’, a thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Vidya in the role of a pregnant woman has been declared a hit with positive response from every corner. Critics acclaimed the film, viewers appreciated Vidya’s effort and box-office gets a good return.
The film earns Rs 2.95 crore on its opening day. Made on a budget of only Rs 8 crore, the film has been receiving appreciation from all, “The film has opened very well. The collection in India on Friday wasRs. 2.95 crore and on Saturday it earnedRs. 4.5 crore. A full-pack show is expected on Sunday. The film will definitely survive for over a week,” Taran Adarsh told IANS.
Gautam Dutta, COO, PVR speaks about the film response, “The response we are getting for the film is phenomenal. There are families coming together to watch the movie. And since it is a women-centric film, there are group of females coming to watch the film. We are expecting 80 percent occupancy all over India on the weekend, which is something we did not expect. And the film should be able to do a good business,” Dutta said.
‘Kahaani’ records Rs 13.83 cr nett first weekend box office collection. It collected 88 lacs through paid previews on Thursday. On Friday, it gets 2.95 crores, on Saturday, the film earns Rs. 4.50 crores, on Sunday, the collection was 5.50 crores.
Vidya Balan starrer ‘Kahaani’ is a thriller, where she portrays a pregnant woman Bidya Bagchi, who flies from London to Kolkata in search of her missing husband.
