Varun Dhawan lifts co-stars Nargis, Ileana on stage

Varun Dhawan raised eyebrows when he picked his co stars Ileana D’Cruz and Nargis Fakhri and twirled them around at the trailer launch of his upcoming film, ‘Main Tera Hero’. Although people are not sure whether it was a publicity stunt or a genuine act of friendship and fun, it certainly set tongues wagging. Ileana and Nargis seemed to have a ball of a time and chuckled as they were being swung around. And hats off to Varun’s physical prowess when it comes to picking up two people, not to forget, swinging them.

Varun was praised for his performance in the Bollywood film by Karan Johar, ‘Student of the Year’, which was his debut film. He will now be seen in his father’s film ‘Main Tera Hero’ which is an action - comedy flick. The film promises an array of stunts, a few aerial. According to reports, Varun is said to have performed the stunts on his own. The film is produced by Ekta Kapoor and is the remake of the Telugu film, ‘Kandireega’. It marks the first time that the father – son duo of David Dhawan and Varun Dhawan are working together. Varun will be essaying the role similar to his role in ‘Student of the Year’, a college student who is the heartthrob of his college. The movie is expected to hit the screens on April 2014 with the official trailer being released yesterday, 23rd January, 2014.

The actor is really good at surprises. People were taken aback when they spotted Varun at Crawford market in Mumbai, lugging a huge basket of vegetables. Later on, this was known to be a promotional stunt for his upcoming film. The film certainly seems to be generating attention with these promotional campaigns and stars Arunoday Singh and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles.

When it comes to comedy, Varun believes it is in his blood. Hs father, David Dhawan is known for comedies like ‘Biwi No.1’ and ‘Hero No. 1’. Varun says, ‘Comedy is in my blood. I have inherited that. It is like a reflex action in my body.’ He is also a good mimic, as in seen in the trailer of his upcoming film where he mimics Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor although he claims not to be doing so at his trailer launch. He says he is just following his father’s style and hopes to do a good job.
