'Vaastu Shastra' director Saurabh Narang dies
Director of the film, ‘Vaastu Shastra’ Saurabh Narang passes away in Sri Lanka this morning. He was battling from cancer for quite sometime and was undergoing treatment in Sri Lanka. Saurabh was 30. He was one of the youngest directors of the industry and possessed lots of potential. Industry was shocked to hear the news of his death though they were aware of the dreaded disease from which he was suffering.
Next he was going to direct ‘Return Gift’ and was supposed to cast television actor Rajeev Khandelwal, who debuted with film ‘Aamir’. Saurabh’s body will be brought today for the last rituals. Film makers like Sudhir Mishra, Suparn Verma, Shivajee Chandrabhushan and Sachin Khot were very much fond of him and they expressed their grief at the sadly demise of the director. .
Saurabh’s father, Dr. Virendra Kumar Narang said that his son kept saying, "I will fight it out.” He also added, "His body is kept in a mortuary and will be taken to Delhi after clearing the formalities.”
Film-maker Mahesh Bhatt remembered Saurabh, “I mourn the death of a bright young filmmaker. I worked with him on 'Haqeeqat', a show on human rights violation. I still remember Sourabh's last words to me, 'I am going to survive this sir', he said with a shy smile. Something told me he would not.”
Graduated from St Stephen's College, Narang did his post graduation in mass communications from Jamia Millia Islamia.
