Katrina, Nargis sizzle at HHIL inaugural ceremony
The cricketing world has already been enchanted by Bollywood earlier on. However, now it seems to be other sports that have got added to the list of Bollywood. Hockey seems to be the newest addition made to it. No wonder actresses like Katrina Kaif and Nargis Fakhri have also joined the sport wagon to perform.
The inaugural ceremony of HHIL- Hero Hockey India League witnessed these two foreign imports- Katrina and Nargis- rock the dance floor by performing to some peppy numbers. Katrina Kaif was seen in a desi avatar as she performed to her famous songs on stage.
Nargis, on the other hand performed to songs from her debut film “Rockstar”. She danced to popular songs like “Katiya Karun” from the film.
The inaugural ceremony of Hero Hockey India League started at 10 am sharp. It took place at the Dhyan Chand Stadium in Kursi Road, Lucknow.
Fans in this small town had a gala time watching their favorite actresses give scintillating performances. There were also other acts that took place on stage. Those were choreographed by talented dance trainer and Bollywood choreographer Shiamak Davar. His group of dancers participated in these acts. They put forth electrifying performances on stage that made the crowd there enjoy themselves.
The first match that will take place this season will be between teams Delhi Wave Riders and Uttar Pradesh Wizards’. This particular season of HHIL will witness an amalgamation of sport and entertainment. Many Bollywood celebrities will also mark their attendance this season.
Narinder Batra who is the HIL Chairman said in his speech, “We are confident that HIL will be grand success. We have strived hard to boost the image of our national game.”
The anthem of HIL has been penned by lyricist Prasoon Joshi. The music has been composed by music director Aadesh Srivastava and it has been sung by Sukhwinder Singh.
HHIL started on the January 14th and will continue till February 10th. The winner of this league will be awarded a huge trophy. Narindra Batra who is the chairman of HHIL spoke at length about the trophy being over-sized. He said, “The trophy shows a player protruding outwards from the base. The player showcases the rise of the game in recent years and the emergence of India once again as a hockey powerhouse.”
CEO of Hero Group Mr Pawan Munjal said,
“We are proud of our association with the national game. I am sure that the
initiative taken by Hockey India to start this league will go a long way in
developing the game and bringing back its old glory.”
