Udita Goswami marries Mohit Suri
Filmmaker Mohit Suri and Bollywood actress Udita Goswami tied the knot in a traditional Punjabi wedding at the Hare Rama Hare Krishna temple Tuesday evening. The groom’s sister Smiley confirmed that it was a private wedding and not a star-studded affair.
"We had asked our close friends to design Mohit Suri's outfit for his wedding and reception. It is a very private celebration, so we thought let's keep it a very simple Punjabi wedding. It's not going to be filmy at all," Smiley told IANS.
"The baraat will go to the Hare Rama Hare Krishna temple directly, and there will be a traditional Punjabi Hindu wedding at 6 p.m. It is a very private wedding for close family members and friends," she added.
The pre-wedding rituals, mehendi and sangeet were held at Smiley's residence on Monday and it was attended by close friends and relatives only. From Udita’s side, her family and friends danced at the sangeet while from Mohit’s side his relatives and friends grooved.
Mohit Suri’s friend and actor Emraan Hashmi performed on hit numbers.
"We are highly stressed right now. There are back to back occasions and last night we had a blast during the mehendi ceremony. There was mehendi as well as haldi last night. So we had a lot of fun last evening," she said.
After the wedding, a grand wedding reception will be held on Jan 31 at the Mahalakshmi Race Course.
Udita and Mohit started dating each other since 2005 during the making of film 'Zeher' and since then they are together.
This is the first star wedding of 2013.
