Tribute to hit jodis by Akshay and Aishwarya
Amongst the most awaited films this year is Vipul Shah’s Action Replayy based on Hollywood’s A Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which had Brad Pitt ageing backward. The Bollywood version brings together superstars Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. It also has an elaborate song sequence, bringing to life Indian cinema’s classic. The film, set in the 70s will have a retro look and feel.
Akshay and Aishwarya Rai pay tribute to the hit jodis of the 70’s in the song. They will groove to a specially-composed number by Pritam. It will be a salute to the on-screen magic created by five jodis – Amitabh-Jaya, Dharmendra-Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor-Neetu Singh, Rajesh Khanna-Mumtaz and Shashi Kapoor-Parveen Babi. Akshay and Aishwarya will recreate the chemistry and dance to their hit numbers.
“This song, which will be shot in Manali, starts in a playful manner and then goes on to salute the stylish romance that was a trademark of the 1970s.” Vipul Shah confirmed. It also has Akshay do a John Travolta in his hit 1977 number, Saturday Night Fever. Clad in a bling outfit, it has the star in full-on retro mode. Shah has roped in Hollywood's biggest makeup artiste Paul Pattison (of Mission Impossible 2 fame) to give the actors a unique look for the film.
