Trailer: Watch Amitabh Bachchan in telly soap 'Yudh'
Amitabh Bachchan is no stranger to the world of Television. He has been part of two immensely popular reality shows, ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ and ‘Bigg Boss’. But for the first time, ‘Big B’ will appear in a fiction TV series, news that has excited his countless fans. The series is titled ‘Yudh’. The trailer of the new series was launched on YouTube on 31st May. The trailer’s TV premiere was scheduled on 1st June during the telecast of the IPL final. It is an impressive move as the IPL final is watched by a huge number of people and therefore the new show will be able to generate much interest before its telecast begins. The online trailer has become popular too as almost two lakh people have already viewed it. Keeping in mind Bachchan’s star power, ‘Yudh’ may easily become one of the hottest shows on Indian television.
The telecast date has not been announced yet but it is expected to hit the screen soon. The show’s title has been inspired from Amitabh Bachchan’s character in it, Yudhisthir Skarwar. Bachchan plays a big businessman and the series is based on his personal and professional struggles. From the trailer the show is looking quite interesting. Apart from ‘Big B’, the cast of the show also features several impressive acting names- Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Kay Kay Menon and Sarika. All of them were seen in the trailer as well. Before the trailer’s television debut, Amitabh Bachchan wrote about it is his official blog, “The promos or the first look of the new Tv serial that I work on shall be revealed tomorrow during the Finals of the IPL… see, look, discuss, obtain and finally give in to the people’s choice.” The living legend also tweeted “T 1500 - My tv serial named #YUDH … first look to be launched in broadcast of IPL finals ...!!” The show is joint venture between Endemol India and Bachchan’s company Sarawati Creations. Noted filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Shoojit Sircar will work as directors of the show.
Bachchan’s earlier work on television has been very popular. His work as the host of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ is considered as a landmark in the history of Indian television. The actor’s last release was the comedy flick ‘Bhoothnath Returns’. Apart from the TV series, the actor is currently working on his upcoming film ‘Leader’. He also has a project with Director R.Balki in hand.
