Trailer: Bhootnath Amitabh fights election in 'Bhootnath Returns'

The trailer of ‘Bhootnath Returns’  — a sequel to Vivek Sharma’s 2008 horror comedy movie, ‘Bhootnath’ — was released by Amitabh Bachchan in the presence of the entire cast of the movie on Tuesday.

Big B said he was thankful to T-Series for having approached him once again for making the sequel of the film. “I am thankful to T-Series for having approached me for the sequel again. This small kid, Parth, is the only one who can see me in the film. In this film, he is the hero and I am zero,” Bachchan humorously told reporters during the launch of the trailer.

The movie stars, Amitabh Bachchan and Boman Irani, in lead roles. A sneak peek at the trailer depicts a lot of fun for kids.

The story revolves round the superstar playing a friendly neighbourhood ghost who is called Bhootnath. He is dishonored in his own world of ghosts and sent back to earth to scare children.

But the kids don’t seem to be impressed with his appearance. A sequence shows the star trying to scare one child.

Bachchan says, “Main bhoot hoon (I am a ghost!),” and the kid replies, “Aur mai chudail hoon. Shaadi banayein kya? (And I am a witch. Shall we get married)?”

Amitabh is seen fighting an election against Boman Irani in the film.

The background voice for megastar Amitabh Bachchan is by singer Mika Singh.

Bachchan took to Twitter to praise the voice of the singer. “Mika Singh — voice of many a successful number — sings for me in ‘Bhoothnath Returns’… His voice always been different, languid and good!”

The singer, whose original name is Amrik Singh, said that a compliment from Bachchan meant a lot to him. “OMG Thank you so much @SrBachchan Bhaji. It means a lot to me. The compliment from the Big B great actor & a great singer. God bless you Bhaji!” Mika tweeted back.

Bachchan will be seen in a dance sequence with composer-singer Honey Singh in a rap sequence in the film. ‘Bhoothnath Returns’ also has such established actors as Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor in supporting roles.

Nitesh Tiwari is the director of ‘Bhoothnath Returns’. The film is being produced by T-Series and BR Films. The shooting of the movie began on October 10, 2013.

The film is to hit the cinemas across India on April 11, 2014.
