There was a time when men held the power and ruled the Bollywood industry. Now with the passage of time, women have taken over this power and perfectly know how to dominate the industry. Here are a few women who have made their presence felt as producers in Bollywood industry.
1) Juhi Chawla:
After having a successful career as an actress in Bollywood, Juhi Chawla has come a long way from acting to producing movies. After becoming a co-producer with Shahrukh Khan’s home production Red Chillies Entertainment Limited, Juhi Chawla has produced quite a number of movies like Ashoka, Chalte Chalte, and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani. However she left producing movies to get back into acting and acted in quite a number of films. However she got back into production with her latest film ‘I Am’.
2) Shipla Shetty
Shilpa Shetty opened her production house in the name of S2. Ahe is yet to produce a film under this production label. Shipla Shetty however has managed to grab Nagesh Kukunoor who has directed films like Iqbal, Hyderabad Blues, and Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. He will be directing a film soon under this production house.
3) Lara Dutta
Her first movie under her newly opened production house managed an average opening at the box office collections. However it was even said that tennis star Mahesh Bhupati had co-produced this movie. We hope their next film under this production house does really well and entertain the audience entirely.
4) Dia Mirza
After her career as an actress in Bollywood did not go that well, Dia Mirza opened a production house along with actor Zayed Khan who is also a close friend. The co-producers are supposed to produce the upcoming movie ‘Love, Breakups, Zindagi’. We really hope her first production does well at the box office.
5) Ekta Kapoor
Ekta Kapoor is a goddess amongst the producers in Bollywood as well as the television industry. Without her father’s name, she managed create a different identity for herself. She single handedly runs her production house named ‘Balaji Telefilms Limited’ in Mumbai. She is not only known for her perfection at work but is even known to be one of the strictest producers in Bollywood. Clearly we can say that Ekta Kapoor rules the production field in the media industry.
