1. Three Idiots
Three Idiots, released in 2009 stars Aamir Khan as Rancho and Kareena Kapoor as Pia, Rancho’s lady love. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi are Rancho’s friends in the film. The director of the movie is Rajkumar Hirani. It is about the conventional culture of the society and its thought processes. It is a story about three students in an engineering college. The movie is very entertaining with a person called Millimeter who names his pups as Kilobyte, Megabyte and their mother, Gigabyte. The college principal is called Virus! The movie was a hit and earned more than Rs.300 crores. It won three National Awards over and above other awards.
2. Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani
Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi under the banner of Tips Films, was released in 2009. The leading role is played by Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. Prem (Ranbir Kapoor) is a simple, fun loving character who falls in love with Jenny (Katrina Kaif). When he realizes that she is going steady with the son of a politician, Prem decides to get them married at the sacrifice of his love for her. It was a blockbuster. Because of his outstanding performance in the film, Ranbir Kapoor won the Filmfare Critics award.
3. Golmaal 3
Golmaal 3 was released in 2010. It was directed by Rohit Shetty. The making of the movie follows its predecessors Golmaal and Golmaal Returns. It starred Ajay Devgan and Kareena Kapoor with the leading roles, Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi. There is also a dog in the movie named ‘Facebook’! His excellent performance in the film won Ajay Devgan the 2011 Star Screen Award.
Housefull (2010) was produced by Said Nadiadwala and directed by Sajid Khan. It starred Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone. Supporting roles were taken by Ritesh Deshmukh and Lara Dutta. The story is about two boys, Akshay and Ritesh trying to win over the family of both Deepika and Lara, their respective lady love. The movie turned out to be a super hit, and at the box office, this film made records and earned Rs. 95 crores as gross revenue. It received several nominations in many well-known award ceremonies.
5. All The Best
All The Best- Fun Begins was released in 2009 and was filmed under the direction of Rohit Shetty. The leading roles amongst the males were played by Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan and Sanjay Dutt; in the female side the leading roles were played by Bipasha Basu and Mughda Godse. Johnny Lever, Atul Parchure and Sanjay Mishra make the movie more hilarious with their acting and their dialogues. IIFA appreciated Sanjay Dutt’s acting in this movie and he received the award for Best Actor in the comic role.
