‘Toh Dishoom’: Watch Varun & John pack a punch in ‘Dishoom’ title track

The makers of the upcoming movie ‘Dishoom’, starring Varun Dhawan, John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead, released the title song of the film ‘Toh Dishoom’ today, July 1.

It is a peppy rap song composed by Pritam. The rap portion have been rendered by Raftaar, while Shahid Mallya has sung the melodic sections. The lyrics penned by Mayur Puri are interesting and speaks about ‘dishoom’ (hit) everything that is bad.

The video features Varun and John suited up in black John arrive in style in a swanky car and lip-syncing to the fun-filled and catchy track. Both the song and video are an absolute delight to listen and watch. The video has been choreographed by Ahmed Khan and reportedly shot at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios recently.

‘Toh Dishoom’ is the second track to be released from the film. The first song ‘Sau Tarah Ke’ featuring Varun, John and Jacqueline was released earlier in June. The song had triggered a controversy with some Sikh groups demanding a ban on it. They alleged that in the video Jacqueline is seen wearing a ‘kirpan’ (dagger), an article of Sikh faith, around her waist, which hurt religious sentiments. However, they calmed down when the makers clarified that it was not a ‘kirpan’ but an Arabian sword.

‘Dishoom’ revolves around two cops’ manhunt for India’s top batsman who gets kidnapped 36 hours before the final match between India and Pakistan in the Gulf. The movie also features Saqib Salem and Akshaye Khanna, while Nargis Fakhri plays a cameo.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Varun’s elder brother Rohit Dhawan, the action-adventure is slated to be released on July 29.
