Tiger Shroff is excited to work with Karan Johar in ‘SOTY 2’
Filmmaker Karan Johar is gearing up for the sequel of his 2012 super-hit film ‘Student of the Year’. There were reports that Tiger Shroff will play the lead in the sequel and that he had also given the screen test.
Now, the ‘Baaghi’ actor has himself confirmed the reports that he has been approached for ‘Student of the Year 2’. “Yes, we are in talks. Karan sir and I met a couple of times to discuss the film. He has given me a brief idea about the film. I will take the narration and sign the film mostly,” Tiger was quoted in a DNA report.
Tiger is indeed excited at this “fabulous” opportunity to work with Karan. “Who would not want to work with Karan sir? If this works out, it will be fab,” he added.
The rest of the cast for the sequel has not been finalised yet. The 2012 romantic drama marked the debut of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, as well as Boman Irani’s son Kayoze.
Tiger will be next seen in ‘A Flying Jatt’, after which he will team up again with his ‘Baaghi’ and ‘Heropanti’ director Sabbir Khan for ‘Munna Michael’. Thereafter, he will begin work on ‘Baaghi 2’ in January 2017, followed by ‘SOTY 2’.
Karan, meanwhile, is busy with his upcoming directorial ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor. The triangle love story is slated to release on October 28.
Tiger is currently busy promoting his upcoming superhero flick ‘A Flying Jatt’ directed by choreographer-turned-director Remo D’Souza. In the film, Tiger will be seen romancing Jacqueline Fernandez and battling retired professional wrestler-turned-actor Nathan Jones who has featured in Hollywood movies like Mad Max: Fury Road’, ‘Conan the Barbarian’ and ‘Troy’ among others.
‘A Flying Jatt’ will release on August 25.
