Every year Bollywood welcomes a number of debutants to act in Bollywood. While a few make a lasting impression, a few vanish like fizz. This year also, Bollywood has witnessed a number of promising debutant actors and actresses. Take a look at the debutants of 2013:
After acting in TV serials, Amit Sadh made his debut in a supporting role in ‘Kai Po Che’. Amit’s acting was appreciated both in the country as well as at the International film festivals. He played the powerful character of a budding politician in this movie.
Sushant Singh Rajput
Sushant’s popularity was surging high even before his debut movie as he became a household name with TV serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’. He delivered a superb performance in his debut movie ‘Kai Po Che’ as a lead actor. Soon after he bagged YRF’s offer and he acted in ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’. He has even signed a few endorsements.
Ram Charan Teja
Ram Charan Teja is a South Indian actor. But in 2013 he dared to step into the shoes of Big B by acting in the remake of Big B’s popular movie ‘Zanjeer’. He is son of popular south Indian actor Cheranjeevi. His acting received mixed reviews from critics. He acted opposite Priyanka Chopra. The movie failed to create the magic of the original ‘Zanjeer’.
After his song ‘Kolaveri Di’ became a rage, south Indian actor Dhanush debuted in Bollywood in 2013 with romantic movie ‘Raanjhanaa’. He starred opposite Sonam Kapoor. The movie turned out to be hit and Dhanush was appreciated for his acting. Dhanush is also the son in law of superstar Rajinikanth.
Pallavi Sharda debuted with ‘Besharam’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor. She is an Indian Australian theatre actress. The movie failed to create a magic. Though the failure hardly affected Ranbir’s career, it negatively affected Pallavi.
Vaani Kapoor was launched by Yash Raj Films. Her debut movie was ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’. Both her looks and her acting received thumbs up from the critics. She starred along with Sushant Singh and Parineeti Chopra.
She is known as queen of controversy. Even before her debut movie, she created news for herself was tagged as her publicity stunts. She debuted in ‘Nasha’. Her bold scenes and her controversial statements became talk of the town.
