The bigger and better films of this year are yet to release
The year’s end may be nearing but the best Hindi movies are only yet to come. "Agneepath", "Kahaani", "Rowdy Rathore" and "Ek tha Tiger" may be out already but the line-up of the upcoming movies that are yet to hit the multiplexes say a different story- they are the most-awaited films of the year in terms of the filmmakers, stars and stories.
Let us briefly browse through the films that are keeping movie buffs’ expectations and excitement alive:
Talaash- The last time we saw Aamir Khan act on screen was “Dhobi Ghat” in 2010 and since then the wait has been too long. In Talaash, Aamir will be seen in a cop’s avatar and therefore the audiences will surely feel the thump. Also in the movie will be seen Kareena Kapoor, who is riding the success wave, and Rani Mukerji who we know is fabulous when it comes to acting. This movie’s story has been written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti- the duo also penned “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” and the latter is directing this film. Also Aamir has kept a share in the profits of the film like he chose to do in all of his previous hits, this surely is a mark that tells us this is going to be another film we will remember Aamir Khan for.
Heroine- This film is all set to hit the screens on Sep 14. The film has had its share of controversies even before the shoots began. First, Kareena was approached for the film. She had issues with the intimate scenes of the film and therefore Ash was put on board. The film was even introduced at Cannes. Later Ash’s pregnancy played spoilsport and therefore Kareena again was pursued. This woman-centric film will definitely give Kareena a stronger foothold in the film industry.
Barfi- Ranbir is definitely an actor to watch out for. After Rockstar this is Ranbir’s next and therefore has high expectations. And the promo of the film hints at the film’s uniqueness and the artistic touch provided by the Bengali director Anurag Basu. Ranbir plays the character of a deaf and mute and Priyanka Chopra, a girl with autism. This movie is about love that goes beyond the societal constrictions of normal and abnormal.
Shah Rukh Khan’s next- This untitled film marks the return of Yash Chopra to direction. The film stars SRK, Katrina and Anushka Sharma and the film is being made in the lines of” Veer Zaara”. This combination definitely is going to be a hit.
Student of the Year- Karan Johar’s this film has been making a buzz since its inception. The film stars all newbies- Siddharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt (Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter) and Varun Dhawan (David Dhawan’s son) in pivotal roles and also Kayoze Irani, the son of Boman Irani. The movie is made in a similar concept as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
English Vinglish- This film is Sridevi’s comeback vehicle and this is not any film that makes for a comeback. This film is by Gauri Shine the wife of the remarkable director R. Balki who churned out films like “Paa” and “Cheeni Kum” and therefore can be expected to be a different film. It is very difficult to make a comeback in this industry as new entrants are fast filling up the voids. However, we hope Sridevi is able to hold her own with this film.
Dabangg 2- The man who is not going to stop below a 100 crore mark is Salman Khan. Also he set new records with Dabangg. The audiences want to wait and see what more can he do with Dabangg 2. Also this time around Arbaaz Khan will be directing the film. We can safely say that this film’s expectations are only rising.
Bhaag Milkha Bhaag- The film is a
biopic on Milkha Singh. It stars Farhan Akhtar who is charting new ground as an
actor. Also his look, and the movie stills say it all about his preparation for
this film. Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra of “Rang de Basanti” fame, this
unconventional film will surely win laurels.
