In June this year, Goa Police has booked Hrithik Roshan’s former wife Suzanne Khan in a Rs 1.87 crore cheating case. Real estate firm Emgee Properties has filed the case of cheating against Suzanne. The company claimed that in 2013 they made a payment of Rs 1.87 crore but her work wasn’t up to the mark.

Complainant Mudhit Gupta, who is the managing partner of real estate firm Emgee Properties, claimed that in order to win the contract of the company, Khan falsely projected herself as an architect.

The company said that they also asked Khan to furnish details about her registration number with the Council of Architecture but she failed to do so. Upon checking with the council, it was found that she wasn’t registered.

Police sub-inspector Rashmi Bhaidkar has registered the case under Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code.

The company gave the contract to Suzanne in September 2013 "for architectural and designing services".

The project concerned is Emgee Properties' Naira Complex, which was being constructed at Siridao in Tiswadi, North Goa.

The complainant alleged that Suzanne failed to deliver the project within the stipulated time written in the contract.

However, in an interview, Suzanne Khan strongly denied the allegations, “The blame is completely false. They are trying to attack me and pressurise me just because I had initiated a case against them in 2015 with regards to not paying me my dues and using my designs for the project. It’s a violation of copyright, as they cannot go ahead and use my designs without my consent.” She even mentioned that her work was up to the mark and the allegations made by the company were uncalled for. She revealed, “It’s a completely false allegation, as they didn’t want to pay me my dues. I will take solid action for defamation. He thought that I was a single woman so I won’t retaliate, but that’s not going to happen. I am going to set an example for all the entrepreneurs who don’t have it easy in this industry.”

Suzanne further said, “I find it amusing that they can say that. I can’t believe that people come up with such stories to bully me, not remembering what my background is as a human being and the family I come from. All the marketing collaterals, brochure and invitation cards show Rooshad Shroff as the architect of the project.”
