Sushmita Sen to make Bengali debut with ‘Nirbaak’
Former Miss Universe and Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen is all set to make Bengali debut with ‘Nirbaak’ starring Jisshu Sengupta and Ritwick Chakraborty in the male lead. Sush is leaving for Kolkata to shoot her first Bengali movie in few days.
She expresses her feeling over debuting in her mother language. “In four days I am going to Kolkata to shoot for my first Bengali film and I am very excited about that. It’s like a homecoming, it’s like going back to my roots,” the 38-year-old said at a jewellery store launch on Sunday.
She said she had been afraid of doing a Bengali film, but now she has got over her fear.
“I can do a Tamil, Telugu or any other language film, but I was scared of doing a Bengali film. I have got over that and I’m working with some amazing actors and I’m looking forward to it,” she said.
‘Nirbaak’ will be directed by National award-winning director Srijit Mukherjee and produced by Venkatesh Films.
Meanwhile, there has been a buzz that Sushmita will be sharing screen space with Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan in a film titled, ‘Happy Anniversary’, On being asked, the actress said, “This unfortunately is something that Gaurang Doshi [producer] will be able to answer better. But yes there is a script both of us are considering together.”
