Sushmita Sen to appear on 'Comedy Nights With Kapil'

Bollywood’s leggy lass, Sushmita Sen, who last appeared in ‘No Problem’ in 2010, will soon be seen on the popular television show ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’. Reportedly, the actress is set to make a comeback with adman Prahlad Kakkar’s directorial debut film ‘Happy Anniversary’, but this will be her first appearance on screen after a gap of over three years.

Unlike many celebrities on the show, Sush is not coming as part of any promotion. A source was quoted in the media saying, “Viewers must have noticed that in the recent past, we have had a good mix of celebs like Vijendra Singh and Jwala Gutta, Tushar Kapoor and Jeetuji on our show. On the same lines, we approached Sushmita and it turned out that she’s a huge fan of our show. She readily agreed to come over.”

“Sushmita is one of the rare combinations of wit, beauty and intellect and we’re sure it’ll be one pataka of an episode,” the source added.

According to reports, Kakkar confirmed that he has approached Sen for a key role in his film. He said, “We have discussed the script, spoken about the role and other details. However, the final copy of the script is still not ready, so it’s a little pre-mature to say anything. Let’s see how things work out. But, we have approached Sushmita and she has shown interest.”

Sushmita on the other hand reportedly stated that she was interested in the project and was waiting for the final draft of the script, before she made an official confirmation.

It seems Sushmita will be working on two projects this year. And before she beings work on Kakkar’s film, she will be working on a Bengali film titled ‘Jodi Emon Hoto’ (What if it had happened), which will be helmed by Rupali Guha, daughter of acclaimed director Basu Chatterjee. Reportedly, Sushmita loved the script and has showed interest in working on the project.

The film reportedly is about the relationship and equation between a man and a woman.

According to reports, Sushmita confirmed the news saying, “I am waiting for Rupali Guha to make further announcements which she will as soon as she is ready. From my end, I have confirmed the film already.”

Sushmita’s spokesperson confirmed the same and added that there were chances that the actress would take up the rights of the film to remake it in Hindi.
