Surmeet Kaur from Mumbai wins 5 crore on KBC 6

Where women of the country are fighting for justice, a Mumbai housewife showed women power and capability by winning 5 crore rupees in Kaun Banega Crorepati’. Surmeet Kaur Sawhney, a housewife basically hails from Punjab but based in Mumbai won 5 crores on KBC 6. The little information we came to know about 37 years old Surmeet is that she is a housewife and lives in a rented house in Mumbai. She is a HSC pass and takes tuition.

Talking about Surmeet a source says, " Surmeet is a HSC pass housewife and takes tuitions as a financial helping hand for her husband.

Surmeet could not believe that she has won 5 crore rupees and Big B and her husband had to make her believe that she has actually won the whopping price money. "I couldn't believe that I won! Mr. Bachchan had to come and hug me for me to believe that I have won Rs.5 crore. My husband also had to come and tell me so," she told IANS. The episode will be aired next week.

She is planning is to donate a part of the money for prayer rituals.

"I want to sponsor some rituals of our Punjabi tradition. So, a part of the amount will go there. We will decide what to do with the rest of it later," added the 37-year-old.

She is the first lady contestants to win the title of crorepati. Before her, two male contestants, Harshavardhan Navate, Sushil Kumar won the crorepati tag. Harshavardhan Navate won 1 crore in season one and Sushil Kumar won 5 crore in season 5. He was a computer operator and a tutor whose earning was only six thousand rupees per month.

"We have rented a place in Mumbai and have been staying here since a few years," she said. She is married to a small time actor who has done side role in Hindi films and she has two daughters.
