SRK, Lata Mangeshkar offers monetary help to Kapil Sharma

Popular comedian Kapil Sharma is going through a bad patch. The huge set of his show Comedy nights with Kapil in the Goregaon film city recently caught fire. Though there were no casualties, the entire set has been destroyed. It is not easy or cheap to reconstruct an entire set. But Kapil is lucky in the sense that some of the leading personalities of Bollywood has offered to help him out with financial aid in this time of difficulty.

"I got a call from Lataji and she asked if I need any kind of help, whether monetary or anything. She asked what can I do for you... Her call was a big thing," Kapil said. "Also Shah Rukh Khan, Rohit Shetty and lot of people from the industry called me and said 'hum tumhare saath hai, batao kitne din mein set khada karna hai' (we are with you, tell in how many days the set has to be put up). The industry is like a family."

The popular show is broadcast on the Colors channel. Several celebrities like Anil Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Sushant Singh Rajput, Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Parineeti Chopra has visited the show and have also used it as a platform to promote their upcoming films. Hence, the relation between the show hosted by Kapil and Bollywood has grown close. And Bollywood showed its support when the need arose.

The exact cause of fire is yet to be known though Kapil s not at all ready to admit to any conspiracy behind it. "We will come to know the exact loss... The figures only after the police verification," he said. A shoot with Sonu Nigam had to be cancelled because of the mishap. Meanwhile, there are other grand plans too. "We were even planning to shoot with Akshay Kumar and Hrithik Roshan for the promotion of their forthcoming films. But unfortunately due to the tragedy, we are trying to work out things," said Kapil.

It will of course take time to re erect the set. "It's not an easy job to reconstruct a huge set in such a short time. The channel is also trying to get the best floor to reconstruct a new set. We have a huge set up and we don't want to compromise with it," said the comedian. Two episodes of the current week have already been shot and the rest will be shot on the sets of Bigg Boss.
