Sridevi sizzles in 'English Vinglish' trailer
If you go by the trailer, it says a lot about the movie. The story is about a simple woman trying to learn the nuances of her new world. Yes we are speaking about ‘English Vinglish’. This is Sridevi’s comeback movie after fifteen years. The world around has changed a lot during that time. In the movie, she is seen playing a woman who is trying to learn English for her husband and children.
The diva who turned 49 on Monday, is however quite confident about her movie. Speaking to reporters she said, "I am very confident with this film and not insecure at all. I am very excited about this film."
She was seen celebrating her birthday yesterday, with husband Bonny Kapoor and daughters Jhanvi and Khushi. She looked as young as ever. The first look of the movie was launched on Monday. ‘English Vinglish’ is being directed by Gauri Shinde and produced by her husband R.Balki. Balki is the director of movie such as ‘Paa’ and ‘Cheeni kum’ starring Amitabh Bachchan.
Gauri said when she was writing the script she did not have anyone her mind portraying the character of Sashi, "While writing the script, I did not think of anyone. When Balki met Boney and Sridevi, they asked him what he was doing at that time. Balki mentioned about me writing a script. Sridevi liked the subject and I narrated the script to her and it just happened."
She said her inspiration for the character came from her mother. She said,” My mother was the inspiration for this film. Most people in India struggle with this language. It is the insecurity and insensitivity that I have shown in the film.” Later on she said,” Sridevi is the hero of the film.”
Sridevi on her part thanked the director for this role and said, Thanks to Gauri and Balki; they made me feel so comfortable. It’s my first film after 15 years... I felt like a new comer." She also said, “I am so used to Gauri I don`t know how I am going to work with other directors.”Amitabh Bachchan is also supposed to play a small part in the movie. Speaking about that, Gauri quoted, "I am happy that he is part of the film. He has been a lucky mascot for my husband Balki." ‘English Vinglish’ is scheduled to be released on October 5th. The trailer which was released yesterday is already trending over twitter and counting more than 50000 hits on YouTube.
