Sonam, Punit calls Shobha De ‘a fossil’
It was not very long when Sonam Kapoor hurt Aishwarya Rai Bachchan by calling her ‘Aunty Ji’ and now she has been roped into another controversy by taking a dig at the writer Shobha De on Twitter. Sonam’s latest release ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ fail to impress the writer and she wrote a critical review of the film. This piece of news did not go well with the director of the film Punit Malhotra and actress Sonam Kapoor. In response to Shobha’s grave review, both of them humiliated the writer by calling her ‘a fossil who’s getting no action’.
The abusive comment posted by Sonam and Punit on Twitter goes as, “Guys pls (sic) don’t take Shobha De seriously. She’s a fossil who’s getting no action and going through menopause.” Impressed with the entire thing, Sonam at the end of the comment added, ‘ha ha’. But when things took a controversial turn, Punit and Sonam deleted the comment from the site.
Earlier, Shobha De wrote, ‘IHLS’, "What an absolute waste casting Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor in this utterly dull, total dud of a movie which is more a wonky tribute to Karan Johar`s earlier films, songs and screen pairings. After a point, all those `in` jokes and references start bugging the viewer, particularly a replay of his popular songs as background scores and an embarrassingly gauche recreation of iconic scenes, like the ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ dialogue between Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.”
“Come on guys, are you that desperate for original ideas that you have to pack so many reels of a contemporary film with such obvious take-offs? This isn`t clever tongue-in-cheek stuff. It`s plain unimaginative," she wrote.
But Sonam’s spokesperson defended her, saying, “She merely wrote ‘Haha’ in response to what Punit said.”
We know Papa Anil Kapoor might not be happy with his daughter constantly hitting the headlines for all wrong reasons.
