Sonam and Chitrangada set the ramp on fire

Bollywood actresses Sonam Kapoor and Chitrangda Singh walked the ramp at the closing ceremony of India International Jewellery Week (IIJW).

IIJW was conducting its fourth edition of jewelry show and was hosted by the Gem & Jewelry Export Promotion Council. A four day event took place at the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai. In association with PC Jewellers, IIJW was presented by the Gemological Institute of America. August 8th saw the grand finale of the event and featured “Best of Best” show that showcased the best creations by all the participating designers.

Collections spanned both classy and young designs. There were also ranges of traditional classic jewelry collections. A number of Bollywood celebrities walked the ramp either on the opening day or on the closing event.

“We are proud to announce the fourth edition of India’s most sought after jewelry show which has been an ideal platform for not only the established jewelers and designers, but also encouraged next-gen designers to showcase their immense talent, craftsmanship, and innovation in the field of jewelry design.” said Vipul Shah, chairman of GJEPC.

Sonam Kapoor walked the ramp in the finale. She is also the brand ambassador of India International Jewelry Week. Sonam Kapoor stood tall in an orange textured and self printed saree and had thin sequenced border. She was looking a complete diva in her huge maang-tika and multilayered neck lace. She was clad with stone jewellery. Her jewelry also had elements of pearls and gems. Her armband and exquisite ring bracelet added to her beauty. She walked with designer J J Valaya. Finally she went and sat on a peacock themed throne to showcase brand of ‘Gia’.

Apart from her, hot and glamorous Chitrangda Singh also walked the ramp. She was wearing a heavily ornate berry colored off shoulder gown. She was wearing heavy polki jewelry. Huge necklace, dangling earrings and bracelet simply added to her beauty. She was looking ravishing on the ramp.

Director Madhur Bhandarkar also walked on the ramp in a black sherwani with a beautiful brooch adding to the richness of the sherwani. Probably the director wanted to see how it felt in front of the cameras, rather than behind the camera. He was very happy to have walked the ramp.

Singer and song writer Shalmali Kholgade also performed on the closing event. She sang few of her songs.
