'Dabangg' girl Sonakshi Sinha turns 27 today
Sonakshi Sinha celebrates her 27th birthday on 2nd June. The pretty actor from Patna who made a blockbuster debut in ‘Dabangg’ has stole hearts with her ‘girl next door’ image and also her acting skills. In her four year old career she has already been part of several super hit films like ‘Rowdy Rathore’ and ‘Dabangg 2’.
Apart from large scale Hindi films she is also making her presence felt down south. Her Tamil debut will be in the film ‘Lingaa’ opposite none other than Tamil icon Rajinikanth. The duo is shooting for the film in the city of Mysore at present. Sources close to the production has revealed that Sonakshi has already impressed Rajini with her acting as well as her ability to adapt very quickly, “It is Sonakshi’s debut in the south and we all are quite fascinated, including Rajinikanth sir, with how she has adapted to the southern movie so quickly.” The source further added, “Even though it is a completely foreign language for Sonakshi, she has been pretty quick with the shooting and all the scenes are coming out perfect in the first shot itself.”
Today’s attractive Sonakshi was not always like this. Her old photos before her film debut reveal her as a cute but plump girl. To work in the film ‘Dabangg’ in the role of a village girl, Sonakshi had to lose an astounding 3o kg weight. From a formidable 90 kg, she now weighs around 60 kg. Before joining films she had a sedentary lifestyle. She did not do any exercises and was very much fond of junk food. She was working in films as a costume designer but never thought about joining the industry as an actor despite the fact that her father is a former Bollywood star Shatrughan Sinha.
It was Salman Khan who first advised her to lose weight and to try her luck in films. Inspired by Salman who himself is a known fitness freak, Sonakshi set out for this difficult task. For two years she worked with her personal trainer and transformed herself into the gorgeous girl we see today. Sonakshi later recalled her experience, "The initial days were extremely difficult. My body would ache so much so that I would have difficulties waking up in the morning." She says that staying fit and doing regular exercise is now part of her life. Sonakshi should be congratulated on her hard work and dedication that helped her to become one of the most popular young stars of the industry.
