Sonakshi Sinha walks out of 'Mubarkan' starring Arjun Kapoor
Sonakshi Sinha has walked out of Anees Bazmee's upcoming project 'Mubarkan' starring her ex-boyfriend Arjun Kapoor. Sonakshi had shown interest in the project earlier, but she opted out as she doesn’t want to do smaller roles anymore.
Sonakshi and Arjun starred together for the first time in ‘Tevar’. While the film received a luke warm response at the box-office, the two actors grabbed headlines for their alleged romance during the shooting. However, they split soon after the film released in January last year.
It was expected that the former lovers will be reuniting on screen again for ‘Mubarakan’, but it is not happening any longer.
Sonakshai will be next seen in A. R. Murugadoss’ action thriller ‘Akira’ which is set to hit screens on September 2. Her ‘Force 2’ opposite John Abraham is also in post-production stage. She is also playing the title role of a journalist in ‘Noor’. The film being directed by Sunhil Sippy went on floors in July and is expected to wrap up by this month. It is reportedly being shot in a single schedule in Mumbai.
With such projects in hand, Sonakshi now wants to do meatier roles that challenge her. She doesn’t want to be typecast as an actress who does small parts in male-dominated films.
Meanwhile, 'Mubarka' will also features Arjun’s uncle Anil Kapoor, but the makers have to hunt for a leading lady once again.
