Sonakshi Sinha gets pricey, charges Rs.5 crore for a film

The shotgun Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha’s little daughter has come a long way. She was born on 2nd June 1987 and at the age of 23 years she debuted in the 2010 film ‘Dabangg’. She acted opposite to Salman Khan in the film, as the lead actress. The movie went on to become the highest box office grosser of that year and since then there is no looking back for her. She went on to give other box office hits such as ‘Rowdy Rathore’ and ‘Dabangg 2’ in the year 2012.

She was a fashion designer by profession in her early life and even designed the costumes for the film ‘Mera Dil Leke Dekho’ in the year 2005. Later she tried her hands in modeling. She walked on the ramp during the Lakme Fashion Week in the year 2008 and 2009. However, things were not exciting. The big break came when Salman Khan watched her dance in a function and liked her so much that offered her a role in the upcoming movie ‘Dabangg’. The rest as they say is history.

Sonakshi was a bit healthy in those days. She kept herself on a strict diet and exercise regime. She managed to get rid of almost 30 Kg in the span of 2 years, after all she had to portray a glamorous village damsel. During this time she also practiced acting, in her own words "observing people and trying to pick up nuances." No wonder that she got good tips from Shatrughan Sinha too. Her looks and acting both were praised by the film critics and the movie goers alike. Her dialogue in the debut movie “Pyar se dar lagta hai” became very popular with the masses and could be heard everywhere.

Three years down the line since her debut, Sonakshi is a busy star now and her charges are sky high too. She is charging Rs. 5 crore for acting in a Telugu movie directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and her hero in the movie is Mahesh Babu. A close source revealed, “Sonakshi had limited dates but she liked the script. She was also keen to do a period film so she gave her consent.”

It is rumored that Krish started penning for the film 3 years ago at exactly the time that Sonakshi appeared on silver screen. He watched her in ‘Dabangg’ and wanted to cast her in his film but Sonakshi at that time was not ready to work in the south. It was recently through Prabhu Deva that Krish established a contact with Sonakshi and persuaded her to sign the movie.
