Son-in-law Danush to produce Rajinikanth’s next with Ranjith
After the blockbuster ‘Kabali’, the hit pair of superstar Rajinikanth and director Pa Ranjith will be collaborating once again for a film. The yet-untitled movie will be produced by Rajinikanth’s son-in-law Dhanush.
The ‘Raanjhanaa’ actor took to Twitter to make the announcement and wrote, “I'm so proud and honoured to announce our production's next film #WunderbarFilms.” Danush also posted a video clip which reveals that work on the project will begin after ‘2.0’, which is a sequel to Rajinikanth’s 2010 film ‘Enthiran’ (Robot) starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Danny Denzongpa.
‘2.0’ directed by Shankar is currently being filmed and it will mark the debut of Akshay Kumar in Tamil cinema. The ‘Airlift’ actor will be seen in the role of the main antagonist in the film. The sequel also stars Amy Jackson and will hit theatres sometime next year.
Dhanush, who is married to Rajinikanth’s elder daughter Aishwaryaa, however, didn’t reveal whether he will be a part of the cast in the new film. There are speculations that the new film could be a sequel to ‘Kabali’ which released on July 22 and created a frenzy amongst all Rajinikanth fans.
Wunderbar films has in the past produced many blockbusters and critically acclaimed movies, including ‘Velayilla Pattathari’, ‘Kaaka Muttai’ among others.
