Siddharth Roy Kapur likes Vidya Balan in western outfits
Siddharth Roy Kapoor has remained the epitome of cool sophistication and he has a definite preference for western fashion. In fact, this suave entrepreneur still prefers Vidya in the chic western wear. Till he met Vidya, he was not into women with the mangalsutra and the sindoor. But Vidya appears as luscious in any designer western wear as she does in our desi saree.
The wedding of the thirty four year old Bollywood actor with the Managing Director of Disney UTV Studios was celebrated in the quintessential Indian ceremony. The wedding took place in the Green Mile Bunglow in Bandra and not in a temple at Chembur as expected earlier. The hour long ceremony was conducted in Punjabi and South Indian tradition though Tamil version was followed primarily. The groom was sporting a yellow kurta and a pink turban though no sehra. He arrived in the true Punjabi fashion with band and baraat. Vidya looked her fabulous self as she changed her costume thrice, one of which matched that of the groom perfectly.
The ceremony included most of the common elements of Tamil and Punjabi wedding including ‘Mangala Snanan’, ‘oonjal’, ‘saptapadi’ and ‘kanyadaan’. It was a tasteful combination of the cultural background of both the bride and the groom. After the ceremony, Vidya wore the traditional ‘chooda’ of a Punjabi bride. The couple is celebrating honeymoon in the Caribbean.
However, before being completely smitten with this desi girl, our Sid had definite liking for all things western. So, why the change?
According to a close friend, Sid is so much in love with Vidya that even her ethnic wear does not seem to matter. Sid loves them as much as he loves the sophisticated look of his wife in the best western fashions. However, Vidya carries both the worlds beautifully on her shoulders when she wears a desi saree with a contemporary slant. She adopted the style at Bombay Times Party and blew everyone away.
Vidya loves wearing a saree. “Sari is really the sexiest dress, and it looks good on everyone, no matter the size and shape. It epitomizes Indianess in me," she said. Well, she is curvy enough to carry off any saree in style.
Siddharth and Vidya had met on the sets of “No one killed Jessica” in 2010 and it marked the beginning of their love affair.
