Shilpa Shetty@38: Life, career, marriage, children
Shilpa Shetty has escaped the IPL controversy almost unscathed along with her husband Raj Kundra. So for now they can concentrate on their regular lives. The veteran actress will be turning 38 this Sunday on 8th June. To mark the occasion she held a party at her Mumbai residence recently. Several Bollywood stars and notable personalities attended the event. Her husband, businessman Raj Kundra and other family members were also present. The illustrious guest list included – Sharukh Khan, Karan Johar, Preity Zinta, Arjun Rampal, Sushmita Sen, David Dhawan, fashion designer Rocky S, businessman Siddharth Mallya and many more. As per the reports, the party was quite successful.
This is not the only party Shilpa has organized recently. On May 23rd, she also threw a colorful bash to celebrate the second birthday of son, Viaan Raj Kundra. On that occasion too, several Bollywood personalities attended the event along with their children. The most notable thing was perhaps, Akshay Kumar’s wife Twinkle Khanna arriving with her children. Shilpa once dated Akshay, so many people were surprised to see Twinkle at Shilpa’s party. A source said, “Shilpa and Akshay are both happily married now, so there is no animosity between them. Twinkle attended the birthday bash with her kids and they all had a great time.” Other notable guests were Sanjay Dutt’s wife Maanayata, celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani and Vivek Obeori, with his wife and son. After attending the party Vivek wrote on Twitter, “@TheRajKundra @TheShilpaShetty it was awesome! Seeing the kids in that happy frenzy was divine! Loved @ViaanRajKundra 's gangnam style dance.
Shilpa is hardly seen in films these days. She recently made a special appearance in the film ‘Dishkiyaaoon’ which she and her husband have produced. It performed very poorly at the box-office and sicne then they have not announced any more project. Shilpa Shetty’s last major roles in films were back in 2007 when she was part of two successful films, ‘Life in a...Metro’ and ‘Apne’. Especially her performance in the former film was praised by critics. Since then Shilpa has kept herself busy with social work and television projects. She married Raj Kundra in 2009. The same year the couple became part owners of the IPL team Rajasthan Royals. They currently own 12% stake in the franchise. When some players from the team were arrested last year on charges of match-fixing, the couple’s name was also dragged in the muddle. But luckily no evidence was found against them.
