Slim Shilpa Shetty flaunts her hot body on the ramp
Shilpa Shetty looked absolutely gorgeous as she walked the ramp for designer Tarun Tahiliani on the first day of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week autumn-winter 2014 on Wednesday, March 26. The actress was joined by Harman Baweja and Ayesha Khanna on the ramp. Harman and Ayesha appear in the upcoming film ‘Dishkiyaoon’ which is being produced by Shilpa Shetty.
Shilpa was draped in a kanjeevaram outfit and her waist looked as perfect as it ever can be. The 38-year-old actress, who gave birth to her son in 2012, has been a showstopper for Tahiliani on many an occasion in the past, but this time it seems she got conscious of her figure. She reportedly told media persons after the opening show of the five-day event in Delhi, “I was bothered whether I would fit into Tarun’s creation. I worked out in two months.”
Although her dress looked quite heavy, the actress said it was, in fact, just the opposite. “It’s very light. The use of kanjeevaram saris sounds heavy, but it’s not. It’s so beautiful and even if I wear it inside out, it will look fabulous. The finish is also great,” said Shetty, who is said to have worn a kanjeevaram sari designed also by Tahiliani at her wedding with businessman Raj Kundra in 2009.
At the WIFW, Ayesha looked stunning a sari-inspired dress and Harman looked elegant in a layered bandhgala (an Indo-Western suit) with pants.
Meanwhile, Rahul Mishra, the first Indian to win the popular International Woolmark Prize (IWP) in Milan, was honoured for his achievement at the programme.
According to reports, Sunil Sethi, president, Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), presented Mishra with a scarf.
“It’s a beautiful textile and can be draped in many ways. I am going to keep this in a special place,” Mishra was quoted as saying.
Speaking about the collection Mishra reportedly said, “I created wool in such a way that it’s trans-seasonal. I thought about lotus. I was inspired by Buddha’s philosophy that the lotus is found in the womb of the world.”
Designer Anupamaa Dayal’s collection titled ‘Kama’, inspired by Vatsayana’s Kamasutra and Mira Nair’s film by the same name, was a celebration of the winter beach bride in vibrant colours. At the event Vineet Bahl showcased a collection that looked like a continuation of his earlier creations from WIFW last year.
