Shilpa’s father gets back his passport
Shilpa Shetty’s father Surendra Shetty who was making a round of court for acquiring the rights of his passport has heaved a sigh of relief. A fast track court has released his passport till December on a guarantee of Rs 2.50 lakh. He has been asked to submit the passport in the court on January 1, 2010.
Shetty's lawyer Minesh Zaveri requested the court to release his passport from September 1, 2009, to December 31, 2009, so that he may go abroad. "My client had urged the court to release his passport from its custody as he planned to visit some countries in connection with his business. The court asked him to deposit Rs 2.50 lakh as guarantee against the passport," said advocate Zaveri.
Surendra’s Shetty’s application cited that he wants back his passport as he needs to go abroad for his daughter Shilpa’s marriage in London in December. Shetty’s passport has been taken under police custody as he was accused in Prafful Saree case of 2003. Shetty hired an underworld don Fazlu Rehman to threat Prafull and demand money for showing the advertisement of his daughter for a longer duration than the contract.
