Shefali Shah joins Twitter ahead of her upcoming film ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’

Actress Shefali Shah, who made her Bollywood debut in the 1995 film ‘Rangeela’ in a small role, has joined micro-blogging site Twitter, just weeks ahead of the release of her upcoming movie ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’.

Her very first Twitter post read, “Hello. My first tweet from my official account. So good to be here. Hello Dil Dhadakne Do family. Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar and Rahul Bose. Finally on Twitter!"      

Receiving the on-screen mother of Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh on the site, co-actor and producer of ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ Farhan Akhtar posted a welcome note for her. “Please welcome Shefali Shah to our twuniverse,” he wrote.

Shefali, married to director Vipul Amrutlal Shah, had won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in late Rituparno Ghosh’s film ‘The Last Lear’ starring Amitabh Bachchan. She had also starred as Amitabh Bachchan’s wife in the hit film ‘Waqt: Race Against Time’.

She won Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress for the critically acclaimed ‘Satya’ by Ram Gopal Verma. Shefali was also cast in ‘Monsoon Wedding’, ‘Gandhi, My Father’ and Anil Kapoor starrer ‘Black & White’

Shefali had worked for several television series during the 1990s like ‘Kabhie Kabhie’, ‘Hasratein’ ‘Aarohan’ ‘Sea Hawks’ and some others which became very popular. Now, she is reportedly making a comeback to television after 15 long years. She will be hosting the real-life crime based show ‘Saavdhan India’ on Life OK.
