Shahrukh wishes Rohit Shetty, Ajay for ‘Singham Returns’
It is said that the caliber of a man is measured by the volume of his heart. If that is true, then Shahrukh Khan proved once again why he is such a popular figure among fans as well as people from film industry. On Tuesday 8th July, SRK wished Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn best of luck via Twitter for their upcoming film ‘Singham Returns’. In an industry where one’s failure often means another’s success, Shahrukh’s gesture is really classy. But there are other factors that make this incident more notable than usual. While SRK is on excellent terms with Rohit Shetty, his relationship with Ajay Devgn has been less than amicable in the past. I
As per the industry sources, trouble between the two began when they were offered the lead roles for Rakesh Roshan’s film ‘Karan Arjun’. Ajay was not impressed with the script but could not say a direct ‘no’ to Mr. Roshan. So he tried to take SRK into confidence about refusing the film. But Shahrukh took up the role without telling Ajay Devgn and that led to a strained relationship. Despite the fact that Ajay Devgn’s wife Kajal is very good friends with SRK, the two men never got close. They again had a clash of sorts during the Diwali of 2012 when their films ‘Son Of Sardar’ (Devgn) and ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ (SRK) got released on the same day. Ajay was reportedly miffed with Rohit Shetty for offering ‘Chennai Express’ to Shahrukh instead of him despite the fact that their partnership has delivered many hit films.
However things took a surprisingly positive turn last June when SRK showed up at the sets of ‘Singham Returns’. Sources have informed that Shahrukh was passing by the shooting site in Bandra and when he learned that Devgn and crew was working nearby, he decided to pay a visit. Sources present on the spot have claimed that everyone including Rohit Shetty and Kareena Kapoor were surprised when SRK went to Ajay Devgn and hugged him. It is not always that so called rivals are seen hugging each other.
According to a source close to Ajay Devgn, he never carried anything against
Shahrukh . The source said, "Yes, Ajay was never against SRK. He was
against the system when he was allotted less number of screens for 'Son of
Sardaar'. In fact, Devgns were one of the first people who had sent a
congratulatory gift to SRK when AbRam was born. And yes SRK dropped in at the
set and met everybody."
