 Shahrukh Khan who is the owner of the IPL cricket team of Kolkatta unveiled the name and logo of his team. The team will be known as the Kolkatta Knight Riders and the attire colour of the team will be black and gold. The mascot of the Kolkatta Knight Riders will be 'Hoog Lee', a Royal Bengal Tiger and the slogan of the team is 'Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo'.
Shahrukh along with the captain of his team Sourav Ganguly and the coach of his team John Buchanan unveiled the Kolkatta Knight Riders. Part owners Jay Mehta, his wife and actress Juhi Chawla and the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Prasun Mukherjee were also present. The name Kolkatta Knight Riders was chosen as they wanted the name to appeal to kids too. Black and gold was chosen as the colour of the team's attire as black symbolises Goddess Kali (Symbol of Kolkatta) and gold as they wish to strive for the highest honour of gold. Shahrukh also added "we will try to bring a lot of happiness and entertainment to all in Kolkatta." The mascot of the team is the adorable 'Hoog Lee' which is the Bengal tiger and the team's slogan is 'Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo which means 'will do, will fight, will win'.
The theme song for the Kolkatta Knight Riders has been composed by Vishal-Shekhar, Reebok has designed the team's kit and Manish Malhotra has designed the team's attire. The trio of Shahrukh, Sourav and John patiently answered all the media's questions after unveiling the name and logo of their Kolkatta team.
