Shahrukh Khan to play himself in Priyadarshan's film

Shahrukh Khan is known to do special appearances in many of his friend's films. He will now apparently also do a special appearance for a film produced under his own banner Red Chillies Entertainment. The film under SRK's banner will be directed by one of the king of comedies, Priyadarshan. Shahrukh will apparently be playing himself in the film and will be doing a special appearance.

Director Priyadarshan confirmed that he and SRK will be working together; he said "Yes, Shahrukh and I are working together on a film. It will be a very different genre from what I have done in the past or from what SRK has done in the past. SRK will appear in the film only by the interval and there will be many other actors in the film." The film will mark Priyadarshan's move away from the comedy genre and is supposed to be a love story. Apparently Shahrukh too will be portraying a character that is very different from what he has done so far. SRK will not be playing the main lead in the film but will play himself and will appear in the film only by the interval.

The film will also have other actors who will play various characters. Priyadarshan however did not divulge much but said "We are in the process of finalising the cast and the film will go on the floors soon." This is the first time that Shahrukh and Priyadarshan will be working together. Priyadarshan has earlier worked with Akshay Kumar in many of his comedy films. Priyadarshan is looking forward to work with SRK and other actor this time, he says "I am looking forward to the film and working with SRK. This film is something I'm excited about, particularly because of him." The film with Shahrukh is slated to go on the floors soon and be completed by August 2008.
