Shahrukh Khan refuses to play a villain in ‘Race 3’
Shahrukh Khan who has a set a trend of enacting anti-heroes in Bollywood has refused to play a baddie in Abbas Mustan’s third installment of the successful franchises ‘Race’. Sharukh has categorically denied playing a villain in ‘Race 3’. The director duo met and tried to convince the superstar that his role will be similar to Aamir Khan in ‘Dhoom 3’ but he is not keen to enact the role.
Abbas Mustan met Shahrukh Khan and narrated the script to him and Shahrukh even liked the script very much but he had the feeling that audience would not like him in the role of a villain now.
A tabloid quoted a source as saying, "Shah Rukh has worked with the director duo during his early years in Baazigar, in which he had played a grey character but he has passed up on the offer this time. SRK politely told the directors that he didn't feel the audience would accept him in such a dark role for now."
It we recall, Shahrukh Khan played a baddie in the beginning of his career in Abbas Mustan’s ‘Baazigar’ and then in ‘Darr’ (1993), he played an obsessed lover of the leading lady Juhi Chawla. He also played a similar role in ‘Anjaam’ (1994) in which is played a disturbing character who falls madly in love with Madhuri Dixit and in ‘Ram Jaane’ also he played similar character.
Audience have accepted Shahrukh in the negative role but he later converted into a lover boy image and has been very successful.
