Shahrukh Khan, Ekta Kapoor to clash at the box-office again
Shahrukh Khan and Ekta Kapoor share cold vibes. Their relationship hit the rough patch when Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Chennai Express’ rocked at the box-office and a week later released ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’ fall flat at the box-office. Ekta blames Shahrukh Khan for the poor show of her movie. She blamed that ‘Chennai Express’ blocked many theatres and hence her film did not find space for show. ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara’ poor show hurt Ekta a lot and she has made up her mind to replay back to King Khan by releasing her next film with Shahrukh’s movie.
Farah Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’ is all set to release in Diwali next year and Ekta Kapoor is also keen to release her net movie, ‘Milan Talkies’ on the same date. She has asked director Tigmanshu Dhulia to complete his movie soon so that she can start up with ‘Milan Talkies’. Ekta wants ‘Milan Talkies’ to clash with ‘Happy New Year’.
Says a source, “Ekta recently replaced Imran Khan with Shahid Kapoor for her film while the hunt for the female lead opposite him is still on. She has also requested director Tigmanshu Dhulia to complete the shoot in time so that she gets enough time for marketing the film.”
This year too, Ekta was set to clash with Shahrukh Khan if not the star requested her dad, veteran actor Jeetendra to alter the film’s release date. The producer apparently upset over the film poor performance at the BO. Ekta not only blame SRK for the poor show of her film but she also lashes out at Akshay Kumar for not promoting the film well.
The source adds, “If Ekta decides to release her film next year on Diwali, it could prove to be a tough situation for SRK.” Farah too has delayed the film as much time was spent looking for the right female lead. 'Happy New Year' went on the floors yesterday. However, Ekta’s spokesperson rubbishes the buzz. She says, “The casting is yet to happen.” Tigmanshu remained unavailable for comment.
