Shahrukh Khan blocks 2014 Diwali for ‘Happy New Year’
Releasing films on special occasions brings profit and success, so continuing the success mantra, Shahrukh Khan has blocked 2014 Diwali for his forthcoming film, Farah Khan’s ‘Happy New Year’. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham in the lead. The success of ‘Chennai Express’ has injected more energy in King Khan and he now wants to repeat the success strategy with his next release also.
‘Happy New Year’ is Farah Khan’s long time project. She has prepared the script long back but for some reason it was delaying. Farah and Shahrukh delivered hit like ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Main Hoon Naa’ and the duo is all set to deliver another blockbuster.
Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan are best buddies. It was SRK who has done Farah’s kanyadan. But in between due to the tiff between Farah’s husband Shirish Kunder and Shahrukh Khan’s rivalry, their relationship turned worse. But it was a thing of the past now and Shahrukh and Farah Khan reconciled forgetting the one year bad phase.
The hunt for the leading lady of ‘Happy New Year’ is recently over. Many names were considered ranging from Katrina Kaif to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan but finally the search end with Deepika Padukone.
Salman Khan is also no exception. If Shahrukh Khan has blocked 2014 Diwali then Sallu also blocked next year Republic day (26th January) for his upcoming movie ‘Mental’. Next year, Eid (28th July) will see Salman’s movie ‘Kick’. It is also said that the superstar will be seen with Prabhudheva in a movie which will be released either during Diwali or Christmas next year.
Salman Khan hit factor started with ‘Wanted’ released in 2009, Salman Khan’s movies have been ruling at box office. ‘Wanted’ was released on Eid and became a block buster movie. 'Dabangg' was released in 2010, which became one of the top grosser at box office. In 2011, Salman treated his fans with ‘Ready’ and ‘Bodyguard. Both these movies became instant hit. In 2012, he was again upbeat with ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘Dabangg 2’. Both these movies did superb business at box office.
