Shahrukh Khan beats Salman Khan, bags 20 crores ad deal
Everyone knows about the ‘difference’ between the superstars, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan. Looks like SRK wants to maintain that difference in remuneration amounts as well. Recently, Salman Khan was offered the endorsement deal of a famous Pan Masala brand. But for unknown reasons the deal fell through. After that the deal was offered to Shahrukh Khan who was ready to accept it but for a higher fee. After learning that the same deal was earlier offered to Salman, Shahrukh asked the brand to raise his remuneration.
The brand agreed to the demands of Shahrukh and the deal was signed between two parties. A source was quoted saying, “SRK was okay with the idea that they pitched to him and after thorough consideration made the decision to proceed with the deal. But since Salman was earlier considered for the endorsement, SRK had asked them to up his remuneration than what was earlier offered.” SRK will be making a huge sum of 20 Crores from the deal. The source further added that the brand is happy with the choice they made and want to shoot and air the ad as soon as possible, “They are very happy with their choice and also the fact that Shah Rukh considered them and are now eager to shoot the advertisement and air it as quickly as possible.”
While SRK have hit the jackpot, it is highly unlikely that Salman will be happy with the developments. The Khans were once very close but he and Shahrukh have been at odds since 2008 after a scuffle took place at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party. They consciously avoid getting face to face at parties and events. Recently when Shahrukh’s IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders was playing Preity Zinta's Kings XI Punjab, Salman showed his support for the Punjab team and tweeted, "Zinta's team won kya? (Did Zinta's team win?) ". SRK is said to be unhappy with Salman’s blatant support for his rival team. Interestingly the two stars are also professionally on opposite poles at the moment. SRK’s last film ‘Chennai Express’ was a massive global hit, he has been declared the world’s second richest actor and his team KKR won its second Indian Premier League title. On the other hand, Salman’s last film ‘Jai Ho’ did not fare well at the box office as expected and he is heading for legal trouble with his decades old hit and run case.
