Farhan Akhtar’s cast and crew recently had a great time shooting for the film Don in Malaysia. The entire cast decided to take a day off from shooting and indulge themselves. They languished and played volleyball on the beach of Langkawi. While all the boys played ball, Isha Koppikar was the only girl who decided to rough it out with the guys. And although Shahrukh and Isha were in opposite teams, they all still managed to have a blast.
Currently back from Langkawi Isha playfully says, “I had a ball. Playing volleyball with Shahrukh is an experience I will never forget. SRK was quite impressed with my game. He told me that I had the shoulders of a basketball player.” Isha has played basketball for her school at the state level and she claims, “I loved throw ball in particular. I was always a sportsperson, running around and playing outdoor games.” Isha exclaims that she had a lot of fun while playing the game, as she was the only girl on the team as Priyanka Chopra did not join the game but merely cheered the teams from the sidelines.
On the experience of working with the King Khan himself, Isha says, “It’s been a delight working with him and I have learnt a lot from him.” Isha plays the girlfriend of don, a role played by Aparna Chaudhry in the original. Isha is extremely satisfied with the substance as well as the length of her role in the film. She says, “Farhan has given me a full length role which has been fleshed out very well. I have a very glamorous role and I am the only colourful element in the film. I am akin to a diva or a rock star in the film Don. I have also been doubly compensated for not doing a role in Dil Chata Hai, which eventually went to Sonali Kulkarni as I was busy with the shooting of another film.”
Farhan Akhtar’s version of Don will see Shahrukh essay Amitabh Bachchan’s role, Priyanka- Zeenat Aman’s role, Arjun Rampal- Pran’s role, Kareena Kapoor- Helen’s role and Isha- Aparna’s role. Javed Akhtar who has scripted the original version will also work on the screenplay of the remake version.
